We are the Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) for the Wessex region, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
Our purpose is to work across our region to carry out research that makes a difference locally, right down to individual neighbourhoods with their unique challenges, and to then share our findings with partners nationally so that the United Kingdom’s health care providers and service users can benefit.
Our team
Our team is part of a network of 11 Applied Research Collaborations that cover England, and we work closely with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

We bring communities, services, and researchers together to build an inclusive research culture that helps tackle the health and care challenges we all face.
Our future
We aim to shape a future where care is more inclusive, community-based, preventative, digitally enabled, and equitable. Everyone should have equal and inclusive routes into our research.
